The foundation and the future are being planned at the Old Church. Last March we began restoration, which included stabilizing the building so it can be lifted to remove the foundation. Preservation carpenter Tim Wohlhueter has replaced the rotten tower post and strengthened much of the surrounding sills and beams. Now, the Board of Directors is working diligently with architect Dan Barton and civil engineers Ross Associates on the foundation plans.
And while core decisions are being made regarding the structural elements of the building, we’re continually updating the website. Here’s a link to our latest addition, a two-minute YouTube video taken in August showing carpenters Tim and David Lewis lifting the tower post into position. You can click here to watch it. Enjoy the video, and keep in mind that the building may look quiet, but plans are being made, and groundwork is being laid.
